About Catherine
Catherine was born and raised in Deming, New Mexico. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from New Mexico State University in 1996 and has lived in Colorado's San Luis Valley for almost a decade now. For eight hours every day she works with the finest farmers and ranchers this side of the Rio Grande in conserving natural resources. Otherwise she can be found deep inside a juicy scene within her latest top-secret novel while simultaneously telling small children to "Work it out!!"
Her all-time favorite question is "Red or green?" Her favorite answer generally depends on who's asking. She offers her deepest sympathy to those that have no clue what she's talking about.
Catherine's first novel Rosetta Stones recently won the New Mexico Book Award's 2009 "Best First Book" award and the Moonbeam Children's 2009 bronze medal award in young adult fiction. She was also a finalist in the New Mexico Book Award's young adult fiction category.
